  1. Troubleshooting Tips:

  3.     We hope you are satisfied with the Infobase CD-ROM Sampler.
  4. If you experience any performance problems please be aware of
  5. these basic system requirements which will facilitate optimum
  6. performance:
  7.  
  8. 1. A 386 processor, or better. (486 recommended)
  9. 2. 4 Megabytes of RAM (8 megabytes recommended)
  10. 3. Windows 3.1x
  11. 4. Windows Permanent Swap File
  12. 5. 256 Color Display
  13. 6. CD-ROM drive (double-speed recommended)
  14.

  16.     If you continue to have problems, check the following
  17. system configuration settings as well:
  18.  
  19. 1. Set EMM386.EXE with the NOEMS option in the CONFIG.SYS file.
  20. 2. Set Files=30 in the CONFIG.SYS file.
  21. 3. Set Buffers=30 in the CONFIG.SYS file.
  22. 4. Make sure your Smartdrive is turned on in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
  23. 5. Make sure that Windows 32 bit addressing is on, if possible.
  24. 6. Set video resolution to 640 x 480 and 256 colors.
  25. 7. Deactivate any Windows shell programs such as, Norton Desktop,
  26.   Packard Bell Navigator, PC Tools Desktop, Tabworks, AST Desktop,
  27.   etc.
